What do our instruments look like? - The Pharynx
The Pharynx (Vocal Tract) is what we call the section of the body that starts at the top of the Larynx and moves through the top of the head. This is the section of the body that our breath and sound travel through before being sent out of the body. The Pharynx is to a singer what the pipes of the trumpet are to its player. Here are the main parts of the Pharynx:
Nasal Cavity
Oral Cavity
Lips
Teeth
Tongue
Hard Palate
Soft Palate
Epiglottis
Trachea
