Sing Break

Of course the best way to achieve your goals and to improve your singing is by practicing and putting in the work. We have to keep trying new techniques in order to master it. However, as singers we have to always make sure we are incorporating plenty of rest into our practice routines. Making sure to take vocal breaks between different portions of your practicing will allow you to get more out of your practicing. It is also okay to refocus your practice away from actual singing towards other parts of our performance art form. If you are needing to take some vocal rest, take time to highlight something else. Focus on memorization or diction practice. Listen to recordings of your lessons or practice sessions. Do some visualization or mental preparations for upcoming performances. Just because our voice may need a break doesn’t mean we need to feel like we are falling behind. Stay gentle and positive and keep thinking of new ways you can help yourself solidify what you are learning. It is always okay to take a break when you need it!
